The Connection, a non-profit organization, will host mobile mammogram screenings in partnership with Atlantic Health System on Friday, May 19, 2023, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. These screenings will take place at The Connection’s facility located at 79 Maple Street in Summit, New Jersey, utilizing Atlantic Health System's mobile mammography van.
The initiative aims to provide convenient access to early breast cancer detection, particularly for women who might face barriers to regular medical visits. Eligibility for the screenings requires participants to be women aged 40 and older who have not undergone a mammogram in the preceding 12 months. A prescription from their physician is also mandatory for participation.
Appointments are required for the mobile mammography service, and individuals interested in scheduling can call 973-829-1246. Most major insurance plans are accepted for the screenings, and financial assistance is available to support uninsured individuals.
